Have a Shower Honey....It's Refreshing

A 60-year-old electrician allegedly tried to electrocute his wife while she showered in their Oshawa home over the weekend, Durham Regional Police say.

The woman said she sustained several electrical shocks when adjusting the taps in the shower on Sunday. When she complained to her husband, he allegedly told her it was a build up of static electricity.

The next day she discovered a section of drywall missing and electrical wires attached to the plumbing in the bathroom.

Police allege that when she confronted her husband, he choked her almost to unconsciousness.

When the man left the house, the woman contacted police.

Clarington cops saw the suspect driving a red Grand Am eastbound in the Hwy. 2-Regional Rd. 57 area, and activated their lights and sirens.

The driver didn't pull over and a chase -- reaching speeds in excess of 170 km/h -- ensued. Safety concerns prompted the officers to call off the chase.

The suspect was spotted driving in Port Hope a short while later, where cops arrested him without further incident.

Police said officers found a note on the passenger's seat that read: "I am so sorry for everything that has happened."

The note continued: "You are a good woman and none of this is your fault. You deserve better than I could be."

Police did not release the name of the man who is charged with mischief endangering life, aggravated assault, assault causing bodily harm and failing to stop for police.
