I have been helped by all of the technical advice posted here and wanted to make a contribution for a Firefox add-on that I found in another forum. It works better and faster than any other system that I've used. It is called Image Grabber. There are several versions of this extension so if you have an earlier version of Firefox you can mate it to the correct version of Image Grabber. You can find it here:

This is extremely simple to use. After downloading and installing it, simply go to "Tools" on your tool bar. You'll see Image Grabber, highlight it so that another drop down window opens and click on " Get all pics on page". A pop up box will show and you can determine where you want to download the pictures. Click ok and let the computer get the pics for you. Image Grabber also puts the correct numbering on the pics.
